Kiwi Crate Holiday Crate Gingerbread House Review

Every year Kiwi Crate releases some fabulous Limited Edition Holiday Crates.  I wanted to buy one last year, but waited too long and the one I wanted was sold out.  This year they are offering the following:

I opted for the My Gingerbread House which is $16.95.  We do a real gingerbread house at my in-laws every year, but I figured this would be a good project that both Ella (5) and Ava (2) could work on.

There wasn’t much information on the Kiwi Crate website for this box, so the first look didn’t show me anything new.

Kiwi Crate My Gingerbread House – The Instructions

There were a lot of instructions included in this (5 sets) so I was a little worried that I had bought something too complicated.  But Kiwi Crate never lets me down.

Besides assembling the house, the rest of the instructions were really guides on how to make stained glass, candy, candy canes and the snow covered roof if you wanted to.  Perfect for older kids who want to make a more involved house.

Kiwi Crate My Gingerbread House – The Materials

I didn’t realize this picture was so dark until I uploaded it.  There were A LOT of materials included.  We even had enough glue which with two little kids rarely happens.  Everything that we needed except scissors and markers was included.

Ella and I got to work on the house, while Ava and Brian set to work on the tree and gingerbread people.

Kiwi Crate My Gingerbread House – Leftover Materials

We tried to use up all the materials, but so many were included that we couldn’t.  We have a nice pile of tissue paper squares left along with some ribbon and other trim.

Our Completed Kiwi Crate Gingerbread House

Ella and Ava had a blast creating our gingerbread house.  It’s covered in pom poms and snow and they love looking at the house they made.  The clothespins you see in some of the pictures are holding items while the glue dried.

I’m so glad that I finally broke down and bought this set.  If you are interested in signing up for the Kiwi Crate subscription, using my referral link will save you $10.  I can’t find any other coupon codes for Kiwi Crate right now, but I’m sure there will be lots coming up on Black Friday.
