Kiwi Crate Handmade Halloween Lights Review and Coupon Code

Kiwi Crate Halloween Lights

Kiwi Crate is a monthly subscription box of crafts/activities for children ages 4-7.  They offer some past boxes and seasonal boxes for sale on their site as a one time purchase.  These boxes are a great way to try out Kiwi Crate without the subscription.  We’ve loved the other holiday crafts we’ve tried, so for Halloween I decided to try the Kiwi Crate Halloween Lights.

The mini crates are a little smaller than a monthly Kiwi Crate and Halloween Lights is $16.95.  You can buy this as a one time purchase or you can start your subscription with this.  If you start your subscription with this or any single crate, you can save $10 with my Kiwi Crate referral code.

Also, all shop orders are 30% off with the code FALL30.  There are some other really cute holiday crates out there I’d love to try – especially those Thanksgiving Napkin Rings!Kiwi Crate 1 Kiwi Crate 2

The Supplies:

Like all Kiwi Crates, this came with all of the supplies needed to complete four adorable lights.  I had actually bought two sets of this, so each girl was able to make four of their won.

The instructions were clear and easy to follow.  This ended up being a two day project.  The kids had to modpodge small tissue paper squares onto the plastic jars that hold the lights.  Once those were dry, we were able to start decorating them.

Ella is six and was able to do all of the modpodge herself.  Ava is three and needed a little help making sure she got all of the areas covered.

The decorating of the jars, took a little more help from me for both girls – making sure the pipe cleaners were attached tightly.  I wish that the eyes included had sticky backs – we waited until our jars were dry to decorate them, but luckily I had saved the unused modpodge.

Final Thoughts:

We absolutely loved this project.  It took a little longer than most of the holiday crates we have done, but I think that was because the girls were being so precise.  I think the lights look adorable and we had a lot of fun doing it.  Any craft that isn’t a huge mess, gives us something to look at and isn’t frustrating for the kids or me is a win in my book!
