Even though I haven’t posted a Koala Crate review in a while, we have still been receiving them. Koala Crate is for children age 2-4 and used to arrive at the end of the month, but now it arrives in the middle of the month with our Kiwi Crate.

I was really excited when I saw this theme in my account before the box shipped. I think the idea of playground is a great alternative to the traditional back to school theme that you usually see in September.
1. Seesaw: The idea with this was to build your own seesaw and then use the large beads to make the seesaw stay balanced. Ava was able to put this together in under 5 minutes and really didn’t want the seesaw to be balanced. To her, a seesaw should tilt from side to side like the ones on the playground so the lesson in balance was a little lost in our house.
Ava loves puzzles and had fun putting this puzzle together. She really wasn’t in to coloring it, but Ella colored it and liked the stackable crayons.
3. Sidewalk Chalk:
I guess I never grabbed a picture of this, but the third project was a box of sidewalk chalk. I really wish this had come in a summer box as we are now getting to the time of year where we don’t spend as much time outside.
Like every Koala Crate, this one came with an explore! magazine. The girls really love these – they include comics, puzzles and hidden object pictures.
Koala Crate is $19.90 per month (less if you prepay for multiple months at a time). Unlike most months, I wasn’t really impressed with this box. Ava spent about 15 minutes total creating this month’s projects and never went back to play with the seesaw after she made it. In fairness, Ava is almost 3.5 years old and this box is geared for 2-4 year olds, so we may be aging out of this subscription. I’m hoping next month (Starry Nights) will be a bigger hit).
